Waduk Darma

Waduk Darma is located in Kuningan, West Java, Indonesia. It is about 425 ha and it has 39.000.000 m³ of water volume. Every day many people come to visit Waduk Darma. They come with different purposes. Some of them come to enjoy the beauty of Waduk Darma and breathe the fresh air there. Others come to spend a holiday, playing around or eating together. But, many of them come to meditate or do any spiritual activities there.

People around Waduk Darma believe that there are many mystic stories there. They absolutely believe that there are three islands which are named based on the mystery in each island. They are Nusa Goong, Nusa Sireum and Nusa Laja.

The first island, for example,  is Nusa Goong. It is about 2 ha. The name, for example, is taken due to an unanswered mystery happens there that every year, there is always sounds of Goong. Nobody knows who makes the sound.

Similar to the first island, the second island is named Nusa Laja. It is about 1 ha. Why this island is named Nusa Sireum is because most of people believe that there is the Kingdom of Ant on that island.

Besides, there are still many untold mysteries in Waduk Darma. Every year there is always at least one person drowned there. Many believe that it is because of mystic there. But many believe that it is just a matter of happening.

Cibulan Magical Waterpool

Cibulan Magical Pond is located in Kuningan, West Java, Indonesia. it was officially opened in August 27, 1939. This is a pond where you can swim with the god fish and find the seven magical wells.

There are two big rectangular ponds. The first pond is about 35 x 15 m and the second one is 45 x 15 m. Every pond is occupied by tens of God Fish or Kancra Bodas ranging from 20 cm to 1 meter. The color is blackish grey.

According to the people there, the god fish were, at first, the soldiers of King Prabu Siliwangi. They were disobedient and not loyal to the king. In short, they were finally cursed into the fish. The number of the fish is always the same. It does not increase or decrease. Magically, when the pond is drained, the fish will be disappeared. But, when it is refilled by water, the fish will return.

Besides the God Fish, the other uniqueness of Cibulan is the seven wells. Every well has different name which is taken based on the miracle that each well has. It is believed than when people drink water from every well, they can get the miracle.

The first well is The Well of Glory. It is believed that if people drink water in this well, they will reach the glory.

The second well is The Well of Magnificence. People will be magnificent and blessed by the god.

The third well is The Well of Grant. The miracle of this well is that the people who drink water in this well, their requests will be granted by the god.

The fourth well is The Well of Cisandane.

The Fifth well is The Well of Youthfulness. You will be young if you drink water here.

The sixth well is The Well of Safety. If you want to be safe, they say that you should drink water from this well.

The last well is The Well of Cirancana.

Finally, those are just what some people believe. Because everything is based on what god intend and what we do.

Cipari Archeological Garden

Cipari Archeological Garden is located in Kuningan. It is exactly at Cipari Village, Cigugur, Kuningan, , West Java, Indonesia. It was found in 1972 by the discovery of  grave stone coffin which is the hallmark of prehistoric culture. The archaeological excavation, under the leadership of Teguh Asmar was conducted systematically from 1975. It discovered kitchen utensils, pottery, bronze, and traces of the building foundation. The site is comparatively quite complete depicting the life of society at that time.

Based on the analysis of lithology, stratigraphy, and the group of the objects findings, Cipari site has experienced two times of settlement period, namely the late Neolithic and early introduction to materials ranging from bronze 1000 BC to 500 BC.

People who support the culture in Cipari site have known good organization along with the belief that is closely related to ancestor worship by the discovery of custom building of large rocks or megalithic.

The basis of the whole megalithic tradition is the belief that there is a close relationship between living with a dead on human welfare, cattle and agriculture. There is also a belief that all good or prestige of a relative who has died can be focused on the monuments erected to become the medium of respect, becoming the throne of arrival, as well as a symbol for the dead. Charity or kindness services can be obtained by holding parties or certain ceremonies that reached its peak by setting up such monuments. Goodness will not only provide achievement and life but also ensure a better fate in life after death later.

It thus became a patron of a person's behavior and its marketing to the monument that will add richness, degrees, and enhance the welfare as well as the results of suitable cropping.

This site now becomes the educational tourist destination by developing the site to be Cipari Archaeological Park. A museum is built to complete this site.

Ciputri Mystical Waterfall

Curug Ciputri (The Princess Waterfall) is one of tourism objects in Kuningan. It holds the legend of an Angel in Kuningan, West Java, Indonesia. That’s why it attracts many visitors to come.

If we pay more careful attention on this 8 meter waterfall, it is clear that the waterfall forms a lady wearing a beautiful white gown. For many people, Curug Ciputri is believed to have a legend mentioning that it is the place of angels to take a bath. In the light rain, there will be rainbow there and that is what they believe as a bridge connecting Kahyangan (the place where the angels live) and Earth.

Nobody knows, but it is believed that  the water has miracles. First, someone can get a spouse easily if s/he is still single. Second, it can be the medicine for some diseases such as rheumatic and bone. Some people believe that its miracle is to heal 1001 diseases.

Before visitors feel the beauty and the fresh water of Curug Ciputri, they are served with very beautiful scenery. Many rubber trees are there. They stand and form very beautiful scenery. Due to its beauty and fresh air, this location is often used to be a an encampment.

Sidomba Magical Waterfall

Curug Sidomba (Sidomba Waterfall) is located in kuningan,West Java, Jawa Barat. It is exactly at the foot of the mountain Ciremai, in Peusing village, Jalaksana districts. It can be reached about 30 minutes from the town of Kuningan.

Curug Sidomba has a height of 3 meters. It is one of the artificial waterfall in the river that flows right track in this area. The water is quite clear, cool and fresh mountain spring water sourced from Ciremai Mountaain. There are various kinds of fish there, such as carp and fish Kancra Bodas.

Around Curug Sidomba, there are children’s playground, encampment, and a magnificent mosque with Asma'ul Husna Tower. To reach the top of the tower, we should climb up a ladder with 99 rungs number. From the top of the tower, we can see the natural beauty of the foothills of Ciremai Mountain.
