PAST CONTINUOUS

The past continuous tense is used for actions which were in progress at a given point of time in the past.

Examples:
1.      When I met him, he was playing tennis.
2.      When we went to her house, she was watching TV in the living room.
3.      They were quarreling among themselves when I met them.
4.      When I reached Toni’s place, he was standing in the veranda of the house.
5.      He was sleeping when I came to his house.

Fill in the blanks in the following sentences with the correct form of the verbs given in the brackets!
