Derivative (English words forming)


1. Nouns derivative
    a. Add  –an/ian, -dom. –hood, -ship. –ist, dan –cy to the noun.
        Ex : librarian, kingdom. Brotherhood, friendship, guitarist, sociology, agency etc.
    b. Add  –nees, –y/ty, –ce, dan –ics  to the adjective.      
        Example : happiness, honesty, confidence, economics etc.
    c. Add  –age, –ance/ence, –ation/ition, –ery, –ment, –er/or  to the verb.
        Example : breakage, assistance, ainformation, bakery, agreement, teacher etc.

2. Adjectives derivative
    a. Add –able/ible, –full/less, –y/ly, –ous, –like, –ish, –ic to the noun.    
        Ex : fashionable, responsible, peaceful, hopeless, dangerous, ghostlike, romantic
    b. Add –cant, –ent. dan –ive  to the verb.
        Example : significant, different, active etc

3. Verbs derivative
    a. Add  –ize, –tize, dan –ate to the noun
        Example : computerize, dramatize, stimulate etc.
    b. Add prefix  –en  to the adjective.
        Example : enlarge, darken etc.

4. Adverbs derivative
    a. Add  –ly, –ward to the adjective.

        Example : happily, backyard etc.
